Have been pretty busy for a while now with a variety of things on my plate. Was not planning on recording anything but heard this one on MTV and couldnt resist myself ! Beautiful song, beautiful lyrics, beautiful tune, beautiful voices - what more do you need ! Melody still rules !! The song is from the movie 'Main Aur Mrs.Khanna'. Sajid-Wajid has composed this chartbuster which has already topped the Bollywood top 10 list in most websites. Sonu Niigam and Shreya Ghoshal have rendered this in their own sweet way. Must say they are the Kishore-Lata of this age. What amazes me with these two singers is how easy it sounds when you hear the song and yet when you try to sing it you understand how difficult it is to get the small things right. Amazing duo ! I hope they live a 100 years to give us more of such music pleasure.
Vidyu has been kind enough to lend me her vocals to complete this one. She sounds absolutely amazing. I bet Shreya would be very happy to hear her version :-) I am a little bit rusty but i hope you will still lend your ear to listen to our humble attempt.
The movie just released on the occassion of Diwali. Here's wishing you all a very happy and prosperous Diwali. Khub mithai khao aur khilao :-) God Bless and thanx for listening :-)

Havent sung a bengali song for the blog in a while :( So finally it was time. Found the track and love the song so recorded it :) This song is more popular in the hindi version 'Kahi Door Jab' sung by Mukesh. The bengali version was originally sung by Hemant Mukhopadhyay. Hope you enjoy my attempt :)

'Mere Jeevan Sathi' was a big hit because of its super songs composed by RD Burman. One such gem from the movie is Deewana Leke Aaya Hai. Beautiful song with beautiful lyrics. I have made a humble attempt in singing this number. Please have a listen at your convenience.

Honton Se Chu Lo Tum is arguably the best ghazal to have featured in a bollywood movie. It is extremely difficult not to be moved by the beautiful lyrics by Indivar and the souful tune by Jagjit Singh. The result of their efforts is a timeless classic. There have been quite a few versions of this song apart from the original which is sung by Jagjit Singh in the movie. The version we are singing today is one done by Anuradha Paudwal and Jaswant Singh. It is a duet version and a bit slower than the original. Vidyu has accompanied me to sing this beautiful song and has done a stellar job. Hope you enjoy our attempt at this classic. Please have a listen at your convenience.

This is a classic ( i think !) from Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham. An excellent composition by Jatin-Lalit it is beautifully sung by Sonu Niigam(Apparently Sonu has added the extra 'i' to his name at the advice of a numerologist ! ) and Alka Yagnik. Any Sonu Niigam song is difficult to sing cause of the tremendous emotions he puts in them and also his awesome voice control and this is no different !
I have tried singing this song with Smitha. She has only started blogging recently and is an extremely talented singer. She has done an excellent job in this rendition . I hope you like our attempt and leave a note if you can :-) Please have a listen at your convenience :)

Its been quite a while since i updated my blog. Firstly a very happy new year to you all. Hope 2009 brings out the best in you :) Thanx to all those who spend a part of their time listening to my songs on my blog in 2008 :)
Lets get to the song now ! Most of the top 10 songs these days come with a heavy dose of orchestration...excellent beats ...jazzy bass guitar.....you hear the song and say 'wow kya beats hain yaar' and start tapping your feet !! Sometimes you do remember the lyrics too ! And there are songs also of our generation that get instantly recognized for their tune and lyrics rather than the "foot tapping" nature of the song. The voice becomes the sole feature rather than the orchestration ! One such song which i loved instantly is 'Ek Meetha Marz' from the movie 'Welcome to Sajjjanpur' . The song is beautifully sung by 'Dooba Dooba' fame Mohit Chauhan and 'Kabhi Neem Neem' fame Madhushree. Its such a beautiful tune that i am sure those who have heard it once still remember it !
I have tried singing this song with Vidyu . She has sung her lines beautifully as only she can. I hope you like our attempt and leave a note if you can :-) Please have a listen at your convenience :)
